Annette Shanahan is a Specialist Chartered Physiotherapist, specialising in Occupational Health and Ergonomics. She is a Certified Ergonomist and Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator. She is Past President of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. She regularly acts as an Expert Witness in complex Court settlements in Ireland and the UK.

As a company founder, she brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the occupational health, health and safety, training and education fields. She lectures on a range of third level education programmes for healthcare professionals.

She assists companies to effectively manage safety, sickness absence and minimise claims exposure. She provides return to work rehabilitation programmes to assist injured employees to make a safe return to work, in line with their work capacity. She performs audits and job analysis to ensure compliance with evidence based best practice standards.

Healthcare Direct, her training company, delivers  courses in a wide range of health related disciplines including FETAC/QQI accredited People & Manual Handling Instructor Training. Quality Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services are provided to multinational companies, day centres, patient support groups and nursing homes nationwide. Occupational Health & Safety consultancy includes VDU Risk Assessments and Safety Management Programme delivery.
